nerve pain after surgery is caused by damage to the nerve. this can be treated using ultrasound guided surgery.

• can the nerve grow back?
• how can we increase the resolution of ultrasound images?
• in normal spinal surgery, are imaging techniques used, or is it done by eye and hand? why/why not
• can i link a brain to a computer

my line of thought is that if we use computer aided surgical techniques, then we can avoid damaging the nerves altogther, preventing neuropathic nerve damage post surgery. Obviously some nerves would necessarily need to be cut, so I'm thinking if we make a detailed map of the nerves in the relevant areas then we can strategically choose where to cut, and make a proactive plan for nerve regrowth

>neurones of the PNS can regenerate, but neurones of the CNS cannot

• if memories are a specific sequence of neurones turned on in certain environments, would we be able to record the sequence and replicate it in someone elses brain?
